![]() ![]() Having played it now, it fits much better, and I think it would have sold better, as well as it would fit as a franchise (read a rumor that the next one may be based in Polypenesia). I think it should have been called Gods and Monsters, as I originally knew it during the announcement. Maybe an arena mode (love the arena vaults). I love this game, and I am I am sad it isn't supported anymore. You really feel progression as you make the godly abilities and skills better, and the puzzles and vaults can be done in so many ways. At first, I thought it was too puzzle-heavy, but I am enjoying it. I did make a silly post here about not being able to find a part for a puzzle and it was in an obvious location (lol). With the exception of two vaults I am still stuck on (I just left them alone for now, thinking I needed more stamina), I haven't had to look up anything and just played along. The final vault and boss fight were great. I just completed Aphrodite's story line and it was so good. And then, they went and did it, in a way, with this game! It's SO good! The light-hearted dialogue going on in the background reminds me a bit of Hades (which was also amazing), the Greek myths and stories that are told along the way, the puzzles, combat and boss fights. I really like Odyssey, but the last few Assassin's Creeds I felt they should have just dropped Assassin's Creed and simply made cultural-based action RPG games, since they really have done nothing with Assassin's Creed in terms of the modern day for so long. Let’s pour one out for the Monster Hunter franchise. The best Ubisoft game in years. ![]() If Monster Energy is claiming against Ubisoft, it makes others think twice about naming their products. Likely Ubisoft just didn’t want to take the issue to court, but it sets an unsettling precedent. It’s always a sad situation when a company files a trivial trademark dispute and comes out victorious. Clearly the game has nothing to do with the energy drink, and it feels like Monster Energy is wielding its trademarks very strictly. No matter your opinion on Ubisoft, you have to feel for them here. Since Ubisoft have changed the name to Immortals Fenyx Rising, we can safely assume both companies settled. The two companies engaged in settlement talks over the summer which, before today, was where the story came to a halt. They’ve also pointed out that many other trademarks out there contain the word “monster”, not just in the games industry. The developer has fired back by denying that Monster’s branding isn’t all that famous. ![]() Ubisoft has obviously denied all the allegations made by Monster Energy. The drinks company has put forward that the title Gods and Monsters infringes on their trademark, and might confuse customers. First reported by Tech Raptor, these documents tell us that Ubisoft have been in an ongoing legal dispute with Monster Energy over the summer. ![]() However, recently uncovered legal documents have revealed that Ubisoft might have been telling porkies. The reason given was that the new name represented the game’s themes better than the original. Last month, Ubisoft renamed Gods and Monsters to Immortals Fenyx Rising. ![]()
